the five golden rules to having a
successful online business okay so you would have
an online business and you want to know exactly what you
need to do now for years i've kind of been asked this
question and my mind would just kind of go because i knew there were so many
things you need to do but i narrowed it down to five simple
things that you have to do to have a successful
online business and we're starting right now hey i'm J.R. Fisher

i have sold millions of dollars both digital and physical products since 2009
online and this channel is your channel yeah it's your channel
it's a channel for you to come to and get answers to your online business
questions that's all i do i answer those questions i make videos

because i've really studied this over the years and you know when somebody
says how do you make money online i'm like oh my god you know there's so many
things you gotta do but what what i did do is i picked these
five things that you must do nowadays okay so you could do a
whole bunch of other things you could do a thousand other things but if you don't
do these five things you're not going to be
successful online you're just not okay so this is pertaining to right now it's
20 20.
Um things could change in the future but
i bet these five things will remain the same okay so the first one
is free content free content people no longer are coming to websites
to just buy products they want content you know
if you go to sites like let's say home depot okay
they sell products but they also have how-to videos in there
and they teach you how to do stuff so if somebody is trying to learn how to do
something and the person in the videos let's say
showing them how to install a electric socket in a wall and
they say this is the way you do it these are the screws you put in this is how
you turn off the power and this is the socket you need click
here to get it okay in other words now they've linked that
video and that product in that video to one of their products so that content
so important let's say you're an attorney uh maybe
you start a youtube channel and maybe you teach people how to do
contract negotiations okay maybe you're a real estate agent and you show people
the best way to buy a house and find the best house at the best deal
and by doing so you become this expert and once you're this expert in this
content area they're going to say well they're
an expert in this area maybe i'll go ahead and do business with them
content is so so important guys and it's not a matter of just putting content out
that's useless okay this video right here i'm teaching you
something you can use when you get value out of this maybe

me and you said well that's got value so
his course must have value that's why content is so important and that's
number one content is number one the next thing
i'll tell you is unbelievable customer service customer service is
number two but i mean unbelievable customer service you have
to bend over backwards for the customer nowadays
if you don't want to do that you should not be selling anything online because
you really have to take care of your customer
you have to over deliver and under promise and if you do that
you're going to have really happy customers now off the top of my head i
can think of several offline businesses that do this
super well i i think of chick-fil-a if you go by
any chick-fil-a in the country right now at lunch time probably all day long
there is a line of cars to go in there and buy their products because
they know they've got unbelievable customer service when you talk to one of
their employees they always respond with the same thing
my pleasure my pleasure and they smile okay and they're clean and they're neat
and they do things right and they take care of their customers oh
my god they take care of their customers anything they can do to make you happy
they're going to do it in and out burgers the same way you're
going to see a line around the building there
because they figured it out they know what works and it is really
just great customer service you can have a great product but you can destroy it
with customer service if you have bad customer service you
know it's just it's just going to ruin your company so
customer service is the number two thing i think
that if you're selling online you've got to have it now we use
help desk where people on any of our pages can click and the little box pops
up and they can ask a question and we use those through kartra in the

want to market it all online you need email lists sales pages
funnels help desk whatever it's all built into Kartra all one software so

number three now this one here is something
that some people would argue but i don't think so have a product that people need
more of have a product that people need more of so if i just sold a
comb to comb your hair people would say well they don't need
more combs once they got a comb they got a comb they're done
no that's not true have a product that they need more of
maybe i could sell hair dryers maybe i could sell you know
hair color maybe i could sell you know skin care cream
maybe i could sell shaving cream there's a lot of things that are associated with
that comb now we sell survival food and i know that
you know if they eat the food they're gonna need more food okay
so that's a product that they actually consume survival food now some of some
of our customers actually just buy it and eat it because it's really good
we do a canned meat which you can check it out it's survival cave food i think
there's a link below you can check it out
but that's a product that people will need more of i also sell digital
products courses so i may sell a course on how to
set up a shopify store which i do have one called ecom road yo
to check that out links below there but once they learn
how to set up a shopify store they need to get customers and to get and to get
customers they're going to have to advertise so i have another course
called facebook ads university teaches them how to advertise
so i have other courses on top of courses
and they're going to have to email these people right right
i have email earnings systems another course down there so
i have a bunch of products that they're gonna need more of other similar
products so that's my number three pick is have a
product of something that they're gonna need more of number
four you may not want to do this i don't
necessarily like doing this use social media social media is there to
stay it's super important the way people check out your legitimacy
nowadays is they see if you have a facebook page
they see you know what you look like on social media you know what kind of post
are you doing and i will tell you guys be really
really careful about what you put on social media
i see this time and time again where people have what i would consider an
extreme view about something okay about something
maybe it's politics oh my gosh if you can stay away from politics
it's the best thing in the world you can do post about your business post about
helping people post about you know the services you
provide but don't post about politics guys because
i want you to think about this first on this politic thing and i know i'm going
to get some negative comments below go ahead put it below i can handle it
but if you are of the belief of whatever it is in politics maybe it's a far-right
belief okay and you post some of these
far-right beliefs out there because you want to change
the far left you think they're wrong and you want to change what they think
all you're going to do is upset them that's it that's all you're going to do
is upset these people you're not gonna change their mind it's
not gonna they're not gonna listen to you and go oh
i was wrong all along i kind of see what he's saying yeah i need to go far right
now not gonna happen vice versa if you're
far left you're not gonna change the far
rights view there's no point in posting anything political all it does is let
people know what you're about the people who already know you know
what you're about and they like you because of it and the other people are
gonna go oh my gosh he's about that i don't like him anymore
so it's not going to do you any good you're not going to change anybody's
mind make sure you use social media the right
way okay positive things on social media this
includes facebook this includes twitter instagram youtube whatever and i i
actually consider youtube social media even though i'm teaching you and you're
learning things on this video it's still social media anybody can come
to it anybody can learn from it but i want to add one other thing there
too depending on the type of post you do you want to make sure it goes on the
right platform if i'm just going to post a meme and some words
you know i think facebook is a good place to do that
if i'm going to do a video facebook is not a good place to do that it's not a
video platform if you're doing videos on facebook
you're probably wasting your time if you're doing videos you should be on
something like vimeo you should be on something like youtube
youtube is like the number two search engine in the world why wouldn't you be
on there and your videos last forever people can
search and they'll pop up even if you did it ten years ago
i have a video i did five years ago and it's still one of my number one videos
on how to put meta tags in um so you know youtube is a great
platform but use social media you're gonna have to do it if you have a
business online nowadays and be successful
you're going to have to use social media and now to my last one
what could my last one be number five this particular one
i tell you has saved me time and time again it saved my business
it saved my income it's it's saved my sanity i mean this number five
is probably the biggest thing and it's probably the biggest thing that most
people fall down on and don't do well on and that's why they
fail online and number five is always change always change
now i don't mean by you know changing your product every week that's not what
i'm saying what i'm saying is you really need to
stay on top of what's new out there you really need to look at different
things when i first started out i had an email provider called constant contact
number one i didn't know how to use it okay
number two it was just way too flowery okay i had these fancy templates and all
these things and and i would put 20 products in it and
send out an email and not get any sales because i was doing it i did everything
wrong but the point is constant contact
wouldn't work for me today and then i moved to
i think mailchimp and then i did aweber and then i did infusionsoft which is now
keep and now i'm with a company called
Kartra, Kartra is amazing you gotta go get Kartra if nothing
else i put a video below that you can watch for free
it's a Kartra video it shows you all the things it'll do but it actually
wiped out eight pieces of software for me
so that's one thing i changed i changed my email provider my
internet marketing provider i changed it to Kartra but that's just one thing
the other things i did was i changed in as much as who i was online now
we sold survival k food we still sell survival k food we're doing great
because of the pandemic with a few businesses
that do but i also started doing courses i started doing courses i started doing
one-off courses where people would pay me a thousand dollars
for a course i started doing continuity course where people would pay me 27
a month for a course and all of these stemmed out of the fact
that i had sold stuff online and made money online so now i've got this
survival food company i've got all these courses
i've got different softwares i've used and i've evolved
my business does not look like the business it did in the beginning in the
beginning i started selling cell phone cases
okay i sell telephone cases um i didn't do well i didn't do well at all i had to
change i had no choice there um but then i started selling survival
food but it was somebody else's survival food and it wasn't good
it wasn't a good survival food okay um and when they messed up and they
couldn't fulfill my orders i started my own
survival food and it's good it's good survival food you gotta check it out
surprisingly food but the point is i evolved and i
changed and this change is necessary you know take
you know an hour out of your week and just look around at what's going on
around you you know what are the marketing tools
that are out there what what are the techniques that people are using you
know what are the sales funnels what are the sales
pages you know who's really doing well in the market watch some videos on
youtube and i'm not talking about entertainment
videos i'm talking about educational videos that'll make you bigger
better and stronger and you can do that on my channel too just check out a whole
bunch of the videos on there and you're gonna do great
but that that change that constant change guys
is so very important and without it you're going to get left behind because
online you can't you know develop a product in
a system and a method and just leave it there you can't do it
it's not going to happen because technology keeps changing on us
things keep changing you know i think of the car industry where
for all these years these cars these gas cars have been you know
clunking around town and you know polluting the air and all that and a guy
comes along like elon musk and he comes up with a super fast car
that charges really fast that has more power that can go further
than a gas-powered car and he totally changed the industry um i
was smart i don't know if i was smart or just
hopeful but i bought a stock in the beginning when it was cheap and now it's
pretty high so i did well on it and he makes a great
car but he totally changed the industry because he innovated he wasn't stuck in
the same rut everybody else was so don't be stuck in the same rut now don't
change for change sake make sure it's better
make sure it's going to work better maybe make sure it's better for your
customers you give more value whatever it is
but gosh guys out of these five here from free content
to unbelievable customer service to having a product that need more up to
using social media always changing is the thing that you
